Happy (belated) New Year!!
Can I say that?
Is that a thing?
Whatever, I’m sticking with it.
We’ve crossed into a new decade and my “transition period” has been going well. Time sure does fly. Can you believe I’ve been back from Japan since April?
I came home, became broke again (moving is expensive and I didn’t find work right away), lost 10 pounds, started working in AML, and started a low/no buy at the end of the year to get a jump start on this year.
But most of all, I’m excited again. I know the new year is the time when most people feel all of their sparks, but I really think I made the right decision to come home when I did. Or maybe I’m excited because my fiance is coming to visit.
Who knows! But the main thing is the excitement, which brings along the desire to share and create and I welcome it.
I might have said this before, but I miss the days when hobbies could just be that. Blogging was personal, not so branded and cookie cutter. Not everything had to be a side hustle to eventually (or quickly) generate income. This year I want to get back into that feeling of doing things because I like them, so they don’t feel like a chore and I don’t feel like I’m just trying to people please with ulterior motives, without guilt.
My next few posts are going to be some makeup swatches, talking about my low buy/no-buy, how much I miss monthly pay, the skinny on why I left Japan, and health-related stuff, and some other things.
If you’re out there, thanks for reading my check-in and I hope you have a great year, too. You’re a real one 😉
